Special Demurrer Law and Legal Definition
Special demurrer is a demurrer aimed at a particular defect in a pleading, which must be assigned as the ground of demurrer. A special demurrer lies only for defects in form and adds to a general demurrer a specification of the particular ground of exception. It is a demurrer directed to a matter of form rather than substance, being concerned with matters in abatement, ambiguity, uncertainty, and the like.
