Special Guardian Law and Legal Definition
Special Guardian refers to a guardian who has special or limited powers over the ward's person or estate. A special guardian may, for example, be given the legal right to determine the disposition of the ward's property without being given any authority over the ward's person. In civil law a special guardian is referred to as a curator ad hoc.
