Special Purpose Unit of Local Government Law and Legal Definition
According to 42 USCS § 3338 [Title 42. The Public Health and Welfare; Chapter 41. Demonstration Cities and Metropolitan Development Program; Planned Areawide Development], "Special purpose unit of local government" means any special district, public-purpose corporation, or other limited-purpose political subdivision of a State, but shall not include a school district.
