Speech Pathologist Law and Legal Definition
According to 42 CFR 440. 110 [Title 42, Public Health, Chapter IV,Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, Department of Health and Human Services, SubChapter C, Medical Assistance Programs, Part 440, Services, General Provisions, Subpart A, Definitions],a speech pathologist is “an individual who meets one of the following conditions:
- Has a certificate of clinical competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association.
- Has completed the equivalent educational requirements and work experience necessary for the certificate.
- Has completed the academic program and is acquiring supervised work experience to qualify for the certificate”.
