Stand-By Conservator Law and Legal Definition
Stand-by conservator is referred to a guardian authorized by court order prior to the occurrence of a specified event or the origination of a described mental or physical health condition of the petitioner, or current custodian. S/he is designated by petition and his/her authority is activated upon the occurrence of a specified event. On designation as stand-by conservator, a person can take charge without requiring further attorney services or court orders as guardian in temporary or emergency situations until final orders are passed.
