State Energy Agency Law and Legal Definition
According to 10 CFR 455.2 [Title 10 Energy; Chapter II Department of Energy; Subchapter D Energy Conservation; Part 455 -- Grant Programs for Schools and Hospitals and Buildings Owned by Units of Local Government and Public Care Institutions; Subpart A General Provisions], the term State energy agency means “the State agency responsible for developing State energy conservation plans pursuant to section 362 of the Energy Policy and Conservation Act (42 U.S.C. 6322) or, if no such agency exists, a State agency designated by the Governor of such State to prepare and submit the State Plan required under section 394 of the Energy Policy and Conservation Act.”
