Statement of Decision Law and Legal Definition
A statement of decision is a court paper used in California, explaining decision made in a case and the facts to make the decision when controversies in the case arise. After a temporary decision is issued by a court, if objections to the decision are made, the court reviews it and prepares a statement of decision. Statements of decision are used when one party feels the court has made an error in facts used in reaching the judgment.
