Statement of Work Law and Legal Definition
Statement of work is a provision in a contract or exhibit and it defines what one party is going to do for the other. A statement of work is also termed as statement-of-work clause. A statement of work often covers terms such as inspection and acceptance, quality-assurance requirements, packing and marking, data requirements, and training. There are generally two types of specifications in a statement of work, namely, a performance specification establishing the minimum requirements for items to be supplied, and a design specification establishing the methods to be used in meeting those minimum requirements.
