Statute of distribution is a statute which provides a system of succession to the personal property left by a decedent. It facilitate for the descent and distribution of both real estate and personal property.
The statute of distributions sets forth the settled policy of the law as to where the estate of a decedent shall go. [MacLean v. Williams, 116 Ga. 257 (Ga. 1902)].
