Stay pending appeal is a court order that temporarily suspends court proceedings or the effect of a judgment. A motion for stay pending appeal is filed when a party wants to stay or stop all proceedings in a case where an appeal has been filed. It does not stop the other party from enforcing a trial court judgment.
