Stricti juris Law and Legal Definition
Stricti juris is a Latin term which means according to strict right of law. It is a legal rule of interpretation. The rule of stricti juris requires the strict, narrow and close interpretation of the rights. When the law requires application of srticti juris to a particular right, then such right will be applied only in the context in which the right is granted. This term is often applied to servitudes and monopolies. The extension of the right of servitude or monopoly cannot be granted because these rights are in themselves a restriction on the free exercise of the rights to property.
