Strip Search Law and Legal Definition
Strip search refers to the search of a person after removing his/her clothes. Strip search is usually conducted to find any contraband the person might be hiding. However, it was observed in Hunt v. Polk County, 551 F. Supp. 339 (S.D. Iowa 1982) that a strip search, regardless how professionally and courteously conducted, is an embarrassing and humiliating experience which involves an extensive intrusion on personal privacy.
