Subsurface Tracer Study [Energy] Law and Legal Definition
According to 10 CFR 39.2 [Title 10 – Energy; Chapter I -- Nuclear Regulatory Commission; Part 39 -- Licenses and Radiation Safety Requirements for Well Logging; Subpart A -- General Provisions], subsurface tracer study means “the release of unsealed license material or a substance labeled with licensed material in a single well for the purpose of tracing the movement or position of the material or substance in the well or adjacent formation.”
