According to 25 CFR 1000.2[Title 25 ; Indians Chapter Vi ; Office Of The Assistant Secretary, Indian Affairs, Department Of Interior Part 1000 ; Annual Funding Agreements Under The Tribal Self-Government Act Amendments To The Indian Self-Determination And Education Act Subpart A ; General Provisions] Successor AFA means “a funding agreement negotiated after a Tribe's/Consortium's initial agreement with a bureau for continuing to perform a particular program. The parties to the AFA should generally use the terms of the existing AFA to expedite and simplify the exchange of information and the negotiation process.”
