Supervised contact refers to a session arranged to children who no longer living with parents allowing quality time for children to build and maintain relationships with family members from whom they are separated. The contact takes place in a safe, controlled situation, overseen by someone such as a relative or an organization that provides supervised contact services. It is most often used when one parent has been violent, either towards the other parent or towards the children.
