Surface Transportation Extension Act of 2003 Law and Legal Definition
The Surface Transportation Extension Act of 2003 was signed into law by President George Bush in 2003. It provides an extension of highway, highway safety, motor carrier safety, transit, and other programs funded out of the Highway Trust Fund pending enactment of a law reauthorizing the Transportation Equity Act for the 21st Century.
The Surface Transportation Extension Act of 2003 was amended by the Surface Transportation Extension Act of 2004, the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2004 and the Surface Transportation Extension Act of 2005.
