Suspension of an employee Law and Legal Definition
Suspension is defined as "the placing of an employee, for disciplinary reasons, in a temporary status without duties and pay. An employee who voluntarily absents himself from the workplace, however, even due to a valid medical consideration, is not constructively suspended because the leave is not enforced.” Ross v. United States Postal Serv., 2009 U.S. App. LEXIS 26264 (Fed. Cir. Nov. 24, 2009)
