The term syndicate is subject to different definitions. It may be used to refer to an agency that sells articles, features, or photographs for publication in a number of newspapers or periodicals simultaneously, such as a comic strip that is featured daily in multiple newspapers. It can also mean a company that comprises a newspaper or radio station chain.
Syndicate may refer to a group of persons or companies in a joint venture formed for a specific purpose. It is also sometimes used to refer to organized crime.
