U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Law and Legal Definition
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is a cabinet department in the executive branch of the U.S. federal government established in 1965 to develop and execute policies on housing and cities. HUD’s mission is to create strong, sustainable, inclusive communities and quality affordable homes for all Americans. Some important functions of HUD are:

2.to meet the need for quality affordable rental homes
3.to utilize housing as a platform for improving quality of life
