An umbrella brand is a parent brand that is used on diverse kinds of products which has a unique brand name and identity of their own. Umbrella brand provides the new product introductions with a familiar brand name, which will facilitate for trial purchases, product acceptance, and other advantages for such product. As a result, umbrella brand helps to efficiently promote the multiple products with a single advertisement or campaign. Umbrella branding is also known as family branding. Products that fall under the umbrella brand have a great burden to maintain its consistent quality. If the quality of one product in the brand family is damaged, it will affect the reputation of all the others. For this reason umbrella branding is reserved to products that keep similar quality.
