Unallocated Loss Expense Law and Legal Definition
Unallocated loss expense includes salaries and other expenses incurred in connection with the operation of a claim department of an insurance carrier which cannot be charged to individual claims. It does not include any expense incurred in handling of the claim such as legal or independent adjuster fees that is paid by an insurance company in setting a claim which can be charged to that particular claim.
