Undertaker Law and Legal Definition
Undertaker is a person whose business it is to arrange for burying the dead and to oversee funerals. An undertaker prepares the dead for burial and takes charge and manages the funerals.
An undertaker is not necessarily an embalmer. An embalmer, as such, does not bury the dead and he does not take charge of funerals. [State ex rel. Kempinger v. Whyte, 177 Wis. 541, 545 (Wis. 1922)].
