Underwater Irradiator Law and Legal Definition
According to 10 CFR 36.2 [Title 10 – Energy; Chapter I -- Nuclear Regulatory Commission; Part 36 -- Licenses and Radiation Safety Requirements for Irradiators; Subpart A -- General Provisions] the term underwater irradiator means “an irradiator in which the sources always remain shielded under water and humans do not have access to the sealed sources or the space subject to irradiation without entering the pool.”
