Unfair Dismissal Law and Legal Definition
Unfair dismissal is a term used to refer to an employer's action of terminating an employee's employment contrary to the requirements of law or a contract.
A dismissal may be wrongful due to insufficient notice. Claims of unfair dismissal can only be brought in appropriate forms before appropriate forums within the period of limitations. Employees may bring such claims with or without representation by solicitors. Trade unions also may support employees' claims, and independent arbitration and conciliation services may be called upon.
