Unindicted Conspirator Law and Legal Definition
An unindicted conspirator is a person or entity that is identified by a law enforcement agency as a member of a conspiracy, but who is not charged in the indictment charging his/her/its fellow conspirators with conspiracy. Prosecutors may opt to name persons as unindicted co-conspirators for a variety of reasons such as: grants of immunity, pragmatic considerations, and evidentiary concerns. They are also known as unindicted co-conspirators.
