Unit of the National Park System Law and Legal Definition
According to 36 CFR 17 2[Title 36-Parks, Forests, and Public Property -Chapter i-National Park Service, Department of the Interior-Part 17-Conveyance of Freehold and Leasehold Interests on Lands of the National Park System] the term unit of the national park system means “any area of land or water administered by the Secretary of the Interior through the National Park Service for park, monument, historic, parkway, recreational, or other purposes.”
