Unit Owners' Excess Coverage Law and Legal Definition
Unit owners' excess coverage is “an insurance that covers loss or damage to alterations, fixtures, and improvements within individual units owned by the unit owner that are caused by insured risks. Any damage to household items such as air conditioners, clothes washers, clothes dryers, cooking ovens, cooking ranges, dishwashers, floor coverings, countertops, kitchen cabinets, refrigerators, and freezers will be covered by this type of insurance. This coverage applies only as excess insurance over any other valid and collectible insurance that would apply in the absence of this policy.”
