Unusual Mortality Event Law and Legal Definition
Pursuant to 16 USCS § 1421h (6), [Title 16. Conservation; Chapter 31. Marine Mammal Protection; Marine Mammal Health and Stranding Response] the term unusual mortality event means “a stranding that--
(A) is unexpected;
(B) involves a significant die-off of any marine mammal population; and
(C) demands immediate response.”
