Uruguay Round Agreements Act (URAA) Law and Legal Definition
Uruguay Round Agreements Act is the law passed by Congress in 1994 which implemented the Uruguay Round of GATT in the U.S. For copyright purposes the law is important for having brought numerous works into copyright protection which had been in the public domain. It amended copyright law of the U.S. to include a completely reworded article 104A on copyright restorations on foreign works and to include a new chapter containing a prohibition of bootleg sound and video recordings of live performances.
