U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps [PHSCC] Law and Legal Definition
The U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps is a selected team of more than 6,500 full-time, well-trained, highly qualified public health professionals dedicated in delivering the nation's public health promotion, disease prevention programs and in advancing public health science. PHSCC forms part of the U.S. Public Health Service (PHS) and is one of the seven uniformed services of the U.S. PHSCC’s mission is to protect, promote, and advance the health and safety of U.S. PHSCC attains its mission through:
rapid and effective response to public health needs;
leadership and excellence in public health practices; and
advancement of public health science.
