Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Law and Legal Definition
The veterans health administration (VHA) is a constituent of the United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). It is a tool for executing the medical assistance program of the VA. The medical assistance programs are implemented through the various VA outpatient clinics, hospitals, medical centers and nursing homes. VHA has a large number of employees when compared to other elements of the VA. The VHA should not be confused with the U.S. Department of Defense Military Health System.
