Virgin Title Law and Legal Definition
Virgin title refers to a title that is pure and free from all encumbrances. It is usually used in the context of a tax deed sale of real property which conveys absolute title free from all encumbrances and which extinguishes all former titles and liens. In other words, it is a title that is free of all former claims.
The issuance of a valid treasurer's deed creates a virgin title erasing all former interest in the land. [Jacobs v. Perry, 135 Colo. 550, 553(Colo. 1957)]
