Visitation Order Law and Legal Definition
Visitation order refers to an order that establishes the visiting time for a non custodial parent to visit his/her own child. It always flows from a divorce or separation. Visitation orders are enforceable in a court of law. A visitation order must be very specific in order that the court can find contempt for violations of those orders.
A restriction on visitation order is inappropriate, absent a finding of serious endangerment. [In re Marriage of Fields, 283 Ill. App. 3d 894, 905 (Ill. App. Ct. 1996)]
