Warfare Law and Legal Definition
Warfare refers to an act of engaging in any type of conflict. The term includes any war or military conflict against another country. Depending upon the nature of conflict, warfare can be classified into:
1. biological warfare, where biological or infectious agents are used for war;
2. economic warfare, hostile relationship is developed between two or more countries in which at least one tries to damage the other’s economy for economic, political or military ends;
3. guerrilla warfare, where hostilities are conducted between individuals or small groups who are not part of an organized army and who fight by means of surprise attacks, ambushes, and sabotage; and
4. land warfare, where hostilities are conducted on the ground as opposed to sea attacks or air attacks.
