Wholesale Banking is a banking service offered to large corporations with sound financial statements, and institutional customers. Retail banking would focus on the individual or smaller business. Wholesale banking deals with larger institutions. It provides services to other banks or large corporations. Wholesale banking include: lending, cash management, commercial mortgages, working capital loans, leasing, trust services and pension funds. Commercial banks in order to compete with increased market competition have begun to place more emphasis on fee-based corporate services. Sometimes banking services are also conducted between merchant banks and other financial institutions.
