Writ of Waste Law and Legal Definition
Writ of waste is a writ issued by a court of common law against a tenant who has committed waste of the premises. The writ is issued to recover damages. It was issued as a corrective remedy for the recovery of the place wasted and treble damages were to be paid as a compensation for the injury done to the inheritance. There are several forms of this writ.
