According to 29 CFR 18.1001 [Title 29, Labor, Subtitle A, Office of the Secretary of Labor, Part 18, Rules of Practice and Procedure for Administrative Hearings Before the Office of Administrative Law Judges, Subpart B, Rules of Evidence, Contents of Writings, Recordings, and Photographs], writings and recordings consist of “letters, words, or numbers, or their equivalent, set down by handwriting, typewriting, printing, photostating, photographing, magnetic impulse, mechanical or electronic recording, or other form of data compilation”.
