Youth Offender Panel [YOP] Law and Legal Definition
Youth Offender Panel (YOP) refers to a committee of people dealing with young people who commit crimes. YOP meets young offenders on referral orders to agree with them how their punishment should be carried out. These panels involve local people working with young offenders, their parents and victims. YOP members will talk and listen to these key people and agree with the young offender a plan of action designed to put right the harm already done and prevent future offending.
