Intensive Care Newborn Nursery Services Law and Legal Definition
An intensive care newborn nursery service means a unit of a hospital that is specialized in the care of ill or premature newborn infants. It offers comprehensive and intensive care for all contingencies of the newborn infant, including intensive, intermediate, and continuing care. According to Cal Health & Saf Code § 1255.5 (f), the policies, procedures, and space requirements for providing intensive care newborn nursery services must be according to the standards and recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatrics Guidelines for Perinatal Care, 1983.
