Gallant Ship Award Law and Legal Definition
Gallant ship award is an award given to the most splendid ship. These awards are given to vessels and crew. The Secretary of Transportation gives a Gallant Ship award and a citation to a vessel (including a foreign vessel) participating in outstanding or gallant action in a marine disaster or other emergency to save life or property at sea.
