According to 27 CFR 4.10 [Title 27 -- Alcohol, Tobacco Products and Firearms; Chapter I -- Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau, Department of the Treasury], gallon means “a U.S. gallon of 231 cubic inches of alcoholic beverages at 60[degrees] F”
