Gambling Place Law and Legal Definition
P> Gambling place means any location where gambling occurs. It is also known as gaming house or gaming room. A gambling plave can be a building, vehicle, vessel, or any other place where gambling occurs.
The following is an example of a state statute (Georgia) defining the term:
Pursuant to O.C.G.A. § 16-12-20, ‘gambling place’ means any real estate, building, room, tent, vehicle, boat, or other property whatsoever, one of the principal uses of which is the making or settling of bets; the receiving, holding, recording, or forwarding of bets or offers to bet; or the conducting of a lottery or the playing of gambling devices.
