Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act Law and Legal Definition
The Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act of 2008 intends to protect Americans against any discrimination by improper use of genetic information in health insurance and employment. The Act promotes individual health coverage and prohibits the insurers from charging higher premiums.
The Act amends the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 and the Internal Revenue Code of 1986.
