Genetic pollution refers to the undesirable and uncontrolled gene flow from a domestic, feral, non-native or invasive species into wild populations. According to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) genetic pollution means the uncontrolled flow of genetic information into a full set of chromosomes of organisms in which such genes are not present in nature.
