Genetic Services Law and Legal Definition
Genetic services mean services such as genetic testing, genetic counseling or genetic education. It also includes physical exams, health histories, and lab tests. Genetic services are very helpful for newborns. It is also used for testing adults for a genetic predisposition in order to find disorders such as cancer and heart disease.
The term "genetic services" is defined under 42 USCS § 300gg-91 (d) (18) as:
(A) a genetic test;
(B) genetic counseling (including obtaining, interpreting, or assessing genetic information); or
