Geographical Part of the United States Law and Legal Definition

According to 22 CFR 46.1[Title 22; Foreign Relations; Chapter I; Department of State; Subchapter E Visas; Part 46-Control of Aliens Departing from the United States], the term geographical part of the United States means;

  • the continental United States;

  • Alaska;

  • Hawaii;

  • Puerto Rico;

  • the Virgin Islands;

  • Guam;

  • the Canal Zone;

  • American Samoa;

  • Swains Island; or

  • the Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands.
