Gifted Education Law and Legal Definition
Gifted education is the special practice, procedure and theories used in the education of gifted or talented children. Gifted children are children with special talents by birth. Gifted education is also known as Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) and Talented and Gifted (TAG).
Different methods are used in gifted education. They are:
Hobby- where extra intellectual confront is given outside class room;
Enrichment- by providing extra material, for example assignment;
Compacting- by pretesting the student to establish which skills and content have already been mastered instead of regular material;
Self pacing- help children to develop their own pace;
Acceleration and pullout- materials in which the student has got talent is provided to him/her; and
Summer enrichment programs.
