Golden Rule Argument Law and Legal Definition
Golden rule argument refers to an argument put forth by the prosecution in a jury trial, whereby the jurors are persuaded to consider themselves in the place of the victim or the injured person in reaching a verdict that they would prefer the defendant to get. The jurors have to consider a case in an objective manner. The court usually does not approve this type of argument because it is not founded on factual evidence, but emotion.
