Goods and Services Tax Law and Legal Definition
Goods and Services Tax (GST) is a multi stage sales tax paid at each stage of a product's production cycle. In GST, each business in the production cycle pays a sales tax on inputs and receives a corresponding tax credit for any tax paid by preceding production entities. Only the amount of increased value that occurs during each stage of a production cycle is taxed to the subsequent purchaser.
