Governmental Secret Law and Legal Definition
Governmental secret refers to information belonging to the government, military or a diplomatic agency. The disclosure of such information may be detrimental or contrary to public interest. A governmental secret is treated as privileged information. A governmental secret is an executive privilege that is privileged from disclosure. Governmental secret is also known as government secret.[Hagner v. Commissioner, 14 T.C. 643 (T.C. 1950)].
